I offer one-on-one coaching. I assist people to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication to gain increased competency in their conflict management skills. Conflict management coaching has wide application and may be used in any context. It is designed to change the coachees approach to conversation by altering the tone of the discussions and their outcomes.  Approaching a conversation from a different perspective can often result in more constructive discussion.

Have you ever been annoyed or upset with someone but didn’t broach the topic directly because you don’t like conflict?  

Has your attitude towards a work colleague changed? Have you distanced yourself from them or altered the way you work with that person to avoid them?  

In a family/social context have you been cool with someone?  Have you avoided social events because you didn’t want to see them or have to speak to them?  Has it impacted on other close relationships?  

Have have you ever felt that someone had an issue with you because of the way they behave around you or towards you?

All because you or they didn’t want to start a conversation which might be challenging or lead to conflict! 

I focus on providing coachees with the tools they need to understand their own approach to a specific conflict. My coaching also helps people understand the perspective of the other party.  Coachees prepare for a conversation they expect will be challenging.  I provide the Coachee with the time to think through the options available to them to start the conversation, how they will approach it and time to decide and practice what they want to say. They learn to anticipate how what they say will be received. I help them to think about any challenges which might arise. When they are ready I give feedback on their rehearsed dialogue . This gives the coachee the confidence to make the first step and continue the conversation.
